Block Out Models


For our second week of updates I will be talking about the art side of this project. This week we focused on blocking out models to build our levels with to prepare for our alpha testing. My responsibility this week was to block out some of the main core models along with some of the large set dressing pieces to be used. I decided on a modular pipe set, a conveyor  belt, pallet jack, pressure container, an old pallet jack, also various sizes of boxes, beams, and barrels. After blocking out all the models I scaled them to walls and floors that were sent to me by Maria.

We also needed a model for the main enemies in the game which would be a robotic spider like creature. However, I had already finished modeling and texturing the week prior so we would not have to use a block out model and just use the final model. I modeled and UV unwrapped the spider in blender and textured the model in substance painter.
